Check out this excellent video for beginners covering the basic concepts of preventing your opponent from passing your guard! From Demian Maia: Science Of Jiu-Jitsu - Defending The Guard Pass, he goes over the "Straight Line" and "Head Control" theory of defense.
And also on the same topic, I came across these 2 other clips with some reversal techniques to try when your opponent attemps to pass your guard. The first clip uses sleeve and belt control to roll your opponent, and the second video shows a similar technique that doesn't require the gi that can be used when the opponent attemps a standing guard pass. |
